Have you ever been barred from doing something because of the color of your skin, your background, or your lifestyle? Many people face discrimination and intolerance, and it is not just a loss for them, it is a loss for everyone. When we expose the meaning of racial prejudice, we see how incomprehensible and unthinkable it is. However, prejudice is deeply rooted in our awareness and long-term memory that we bow to these aggressive ideas.
As we allow the comments and activities to be ignored, they are left untreated and lead to division and resentment between two different people of different backgrounds. We should never judge others by how they look or how they speak. Minor ideologies such as racism had to be eradicated by the increase of educated people and the mixing of different races. Unfortunately, however, such behavior is a clear fact and shows no signs of deterioration. Prejudice makes people regret having been born a certain way, of having a certain skin color. Prejudice has no scientific explanation, and racists have no idea of other people's feelings.
We continue to talk about how modern society is adapting to different cultures and peoples. We are trying to achieve great things like world peace, poverty alleviation, but we are not ready to come together to make such a change. It can eradicate prejudice in our society if we do not hide anything about these sensitive topics and provide simple things like this.
Pay attention to the voices of people who experience racism every day – listen to friends, classmates, neighbors, and community leaders. There are also a lot of articles, books, documentaries, films, and podcasts on issues of racism, discrimination, and privilege. Listen to what the people in them have to say. Understand and confront your privilege. Be prepared to feel uncomfortable at times Many of us absorb biases and prejudices at an early age, so they are not easy to unlearn.
Share resources that you have found useful with your community to help them learn how they can play a role in eliminating racism and discrimination. If you have siblings or family members, set a good example. Try looking for games or books that can help them learn that we all have the right to dignity and security - there is more online. People can spread awareness by donating resources to educate people about racist culture and racial history. Most people are unaware of racial injustice and the comments they unknowingly make about their BIPOC partners (Blacks, Indigenous Peoples, and People of color). More awareness should be brought to racism.
Racism and discrimination are rampant. It is often in the form of humor, extreme views, or insensitive comments and questions from our friends, family members, or colleagues. Approach them privately first - in person or by direct message. They are more likely to listen if they do not feel embarrassed in public. Encourage them to learn more about the history of racism and discrimination, and to share helpful resources.
Many social media platforms want their platforms to be secure and empower people of all backgrounds. If you see content that is about racism, report it to the platform. If you see content in a newspaper or other traditional media that shows prejudice, leave a comment or send a letter to the editor to let others know that intolerant speech is unkind and unacceptable.
Encourage political, social, and cultural leaders to speak out and encourage respect for all, and strongly condemns the manifestations of racism as well xenophobia. Encourage social media to emphasize positive images of diversity and migration to eradicate negative stereotypes. Encourage community co-operation in promoting, implementing, and monitoring anti-discrimination standards.
Encourage resource groups of your black, indigenous employees to connect with experiences and find ways to deal with racism. If your organization does not have a team to diversify, start working on ways to improve it. Companies that create variety and inclusion have a great opportunity to do well and attract top talent.
Peaceful protests have contributed to the development of human rights around the world. If you plan to protest in your city or town, be sure to follow a few basic principles. First, learn your rights and how to file a violation of these rights. Bring a face mask, water bottle, snack food, first aid kit, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and other essentials. Due to the ongoing infection of COVID-19, be sure to practice social isolation to reduce the chance of the coronavirus spreading. Go with a group of friends to stay safe when the situation is tense for the police. Create a plan with your friends to use in case someone gets lost. If you see someone who is scared or mentally disturbed, ask him or her if you need help.
The more people who have hatred and selfishness, the less likely they succeed. A world without racism will be where the majority behaves differently so that means the chances of success will be higher. Without apartheid the world would have grown faster and as the species would have grown accustomed. Success would flourish. If today's world were to be free of racial prejudice, it would mean that less hatred and greed would disappear.
