Fashion trend we used to hate

There is one thing about fashion that is it is always changing. Hence, it is more like you wake up and there is a new trend waiting for you to follow. And who does not want to go with the trend? However, some fashion trends do not hit the mark. Have you ever thought about how many times you saw a trend and decided “who even follows this, not me”? But later on, you find the same trend interesting enough to give it a try. Eventually, you fall in love with your most “hated” trends. Similarly, there are many trends that people start liking once it goes off trend.

There is no certain reason why some people have a love-hate relationship with few trends. There can be many reasons for the change of moods. For instance, many people are huge fans of individualism. Hence they do not wish to look like the rest. Therefore, once it is off the trend, some people pick it up again. Additionally, sometimes we think that we can not pull that trend off or some trends are not suitable enough for us. Nonetheless, once we start following it, we end up loving it.

Trends we used to hate but ended up loving it

There are many fashion trends that went from being banished to trending on top again. Similarly, these clothing and outfits were always labeled as cringes. But as we all know, the shape of fashion is always changing. Here are some outfits and accessories that became cringe to cool –

High-waisted pants
Many people call them old-fashioned but now high-waisted jeans are trending like anything!! Especially in the last 2 years, high-waisted jeans have made a big comeback. Meanwhile, at the beginning people did not go for them but now nothing serves a better look than those high-waisted jeans with a crop top. Nowadays it is highly trending mostly among the youths.

Platform shoes
Though the platform shoes are comfortable, people spent years calling them “so 1970s”. However, the platform shoes are loved again as it gives a cool look. Additionally, a little extra height is never too bad, right?

High-low skirts
One of the most popular and also hated fashions is high-low skirts. Many people labeled them as unnatural and tacky. Later on, these skirts turned out to be cool and comfortable. Anyone can pull off high-low skirts with a pair of heel or pump shoes.

Crop top
Because of “too much revealing” and “exposing” crop tops were disliked by many people. Meanwhile, in 2021 the era of crop tops is back. You can slay in a crop top paired with high-waisted or skinny jeans.

Fanny packs
The “too much old” Fanny Packs used to come in different colors. They were big and bulky in shape. Moreover, who would have thought that we would see Fanny Packs again? From Gucci to many other big brands are bringing back Fanny Packs with the same designs. Though they were kind of funny once, many celebrities now have been spotted with Fanny Packs.

Ripped Jeans
Never goes off trend. Though there were many talks about ripped jeans and even schools banned them. Yet, many youngsters are still in the favor of ripped jeans.

Open-side shirts
Once again, there was this problem of too much exposure with open-side shirts. But many ladies liked this cool trend and it stayed on trend for years.

Bike-shorts
Once labeled as cringe but now bike-shorts are back with a bang. They are available in different colors. Additionally, not just common people but also the celebrities pulling them off. And honestly, when we spotted Bella Hadid or Kyle Jenner in black bike shorts, they did not seem to cringe at all.

From cringe to trend and how did it happen

A fashion trend can go from hot to not real quick. In this ever-changing world of fashion, styles come and go every day. Your mostly “cringe” outfit can become your most favorite day-to-day outfit after a few months. From high waist jeans, Fanny Packs to Matrix sunglasses; items and outfits that make us cringe are back. Meanwhile, this time they are cooler and we all love to follow them. Many fashion trends had an epic fall in the beginning and the reason lies in people’s mindset. For instance, the ripped jeans or the open side shirts were mostly criticized because of their “exposing” looks. However, in later years the same old outfits became a popular trend with the change of mindset.
