We live in a generation, where we love cheap price tags. Even though we buy from big brands, we get the items at very cheap rates. We wear them merely a couple of times, and they began looking worn out. The color might look faded or the seems might start to rip apart. However, this happens due to fast fashion, also known as unsustainable fashion. The big designers choose cheap quality and synthetic materials for clothing. Therefore, we get them at low prices. You wear it two times, but the manufacturing and fabric are so cheap that a hole develops in it. On the other hand, let’s say you spend ten Euros on a t-shirt from a local retailer which is of better quality.

The textile manufacturing industry requires a lot of water and fuel to run effectively and ultimately producing large amounts of waste. Therefore affecting the environment and draining the fossil fuels like petroleum oils. Hence, the fast and unsustainable fashion trends are overwhelming our planet and polluting our oceans.

But instead, you can check the tags that are on the back of the neck or sewn in the side seam of the clothes. It tells you what all kinds of materials have been used while making the item.

Buy Less but Buy Better
Ethical fashion is mostly costlier; which shows the true cost of using materials. These materials are more eco-friendly and less damaging to the earth. Made in factories that are safe to work in for the workers, and pays well and fairer wages to their employees or workers.

Shopping in charity and vintage shops and taking part in clothes swaps
The idea of wearing second-hand clothes is much better in most senses. People aren’t convinced about the ethics of buying used high street items. This way we can reduce the burden on manufacturing units which ultimately will reduce the use of fuel and water to manufacture the clothes.

Therefore, we must opt for a more eco-friendly and sustainable fashion. Apart from the above mentioned, you can also invent new ideas for sustainable fashion. You may also reuse your old clothes by updating the clothes you already own. And many websites rent out clothes and accessories where you can also rent yours. And, many people are working for this particular cause only by making clothing items just by pure sustainable fabrics.
