Interview With Mackenzie Lubeck And Shelley

In this May 2019 edition, we talk to Mackenzie Lubeck and Shelley about their modeling journeys.

Mackenzie

Question 1. Getting featured on the cover of a magazine, what does that mean to you?

Being featured on the cover of a magazine is very exciting and I get to see my accomplishments!!!

Question 2. What made you choose modeling as a career?

As a kid, I was always interested in modeling, mostly because I grew up loving high fashion and the Victoria Secret Runway.

Question 3. It’s the Mother’s Day edition for our magazine and you seem to be close to your Nana, Shelley, how important has she been for your career and life?

She has been great to me, and she is the one who helped get things started, so I could have a good future and a chance at living proudly in the world.

Question 4. Let’s go to the very beginning, the readers would want to know how it felt like for you with your first photoshoot and how long ago was it?

My first photoshoot was 2 years ago, and it was very exciting and a great shoot for the first time!

Question 5. You look like a person who enjoys every aspect of her life. Can you tell us about one moment which connects you and members of your family together and is funny at the same time?

As a person like me I really enjoy every happy moment, but I can get wrapped up in my own sadness sometimes and modeling has helped me overcome that. I really enjoy spending time with family members and vacationing as it gives us time to make new memories.

Question 6. Tell us about that one fashion icon that you venerate.

Two fashion icons I respect are Arianna Grande and Taylor Hill.

Question 7. Share one memory or rather a life lesson that Shelley taught you.

One life lesson she has taught me is to never look at your cup half empty when it’s half full.

Question 8. If you could go back in time to do a photoshoot with Shelley, what wardrobe would you pick for her?

She likes Vintage style a lot. Even though it’s not really my style, but I’ll pick vintage for her so she can have some fun with it.

Question 9. One habit that you are glad that you picked up from Shelley.

Well, the habit of trying to make new memories and having lots of adventures!

Question 10. What is your dream location where you would want to do a photoshoot?

I think it would have to be Hawaii, Disney, and Tokyo.

Shelley

Question 1. Shelley what made you realize that Mackenzie had such a penchant for fashion?

Mackenzie has loved fashion from the age of 5. She has been playing dress-up ever since. She used to take clothes apart and create different looks and outfits and I always knew she would grow up to have something to do with fashion.

Question 2. Share one childhood memory of you and Mackenzie that you cherish the most.

I have so many memories from vacations, many concerts, road trips, and the times at the cottage but truly the best day was the day she was born as she was my first grandchild.

Question 3. What’s it is like to see your Mackenzie become successful in her career?

I feel very proud to see Mackenzie following her dreams and staying true to her morals and beliefs. I love to see how driven she is and that she believes anything is possible with hard work.

Question 4. If you had to spill one secret about Mackenzie, what would it be?

I would have to say that Mackenzie is a very quirky type of kid. She spends a lot of time organizing her big dreams and always thinking about her next idea and move. She also is a huge jokester and has a very silly fun-loving side to her.

Question 5. We heard that you manage most of Mackenzie’s career, from your experience while doing so, what is the one thing that you would want to change about the fashion industry?

I think I would like to change the height and weight standards in the industry.

Question 6. What do you think the future has in store for Mackenzie?

I think she can accomplish anything she sets her mind to as she is a very determined and driven personality that I think will take her where she wants to go.

Question 7. What was Mackenzie like as a kid?

Mackenzie was silly, expressive, creative, always singing and being goofy. She has a very adventurous personality.

Question 8. Do you feel you had to protect Mackenzie at some point in her career from criticism of any kind.

Yes, I feel that she has endured bullying inside and outside of the industry and I have always encouraged her to keep her chin up, stay focused, work hard, and don’t change who she truly is in her heart to get approval from others. People will come and go in your life but the ones that will stick with you are the ones that truly love you for being you.

Question 9. Share some of the challenges you had had to face through the course of your ongoing journey with Mackenzie.

Some of the challenges I have had are to continue to keep her pointed forward in her passions and to not let others bring her down. To always surround herself with positive people.

Question 10. If you had to make a change in Mackenzie’s life what would that be?

I honestly wouldn’t want to change anything about Mackenzie’s life as my joy is watching her grow and fulfill her dreams. I have always told her to find something she is passionate about and give it 100%. Remember to stay humble and never forget where you came from and the people that helped and supported you along the way, be grateful, and never compromise your morals.
