Meet model Sandra Caroline, who started modeling right before the pandemic. She considers it was not the best time for her. Sandra feels that modeling has given her several opportunities to express herself and work with renowned people of the industry.
Discussing about how her modeling career is going so far, Sandra told that it is a little off these due to her studies.
“I’m a very busy person. Unfortunately my modelling has been a little slow lately. As I had to take some time towards focusing on school since it started in September. I’m a full time student studying Paralegal and I work two jobs on the side as well!”
Sharing the details of her new project, Sandra mentions that she is planning a huge meet with photographers and fashion models.
“Currently my friend and I are planning a huge model and photographer meet! we will be renting out either a space or a mansion and hiring makeup artists as well! There will be a tattoo station and small businesses/vendors. We also plan on having an after party.”
Speaking about the competition in the industry, Sandra told that she has lost good opportunities due this. She have struggled in her initial years for finding a right job.
“A huge struggle at first was definitely the different jobs I was auditioning for. There’s many models in this industry and it’s very competitive so there will almost always be someone who is better suited for a specific role or job!”
When asked to share an a situation from a shoot where you felt embarrassed but today laugh about it, Sandra tells,
“Back at the end of August I went to a car model meet event and the weather was so humid that I ended up being super sweaty and it was definitely visible in person and in all the photos! My hair was literally soaked in sweat. That was my first time shooting without a full face of makeup and I think that was definitely a good choice cause it would’ve melted off. Most photos ended up okay though in the end but I definitely felt gross in the moment!”
None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Everyone in their life has that one person to whom we are grateful for. So does Sandra is. Talking about that person, Sandra says,
“Someone I’m really grateful for who is in this industry as well is my friend and also photographer Ace. His Instagram is @sadboiiace. We grew up as friends and ended up in the same industry and he definitely helped me build my portfolio and feel more comfortable in front of the camera when I was first getting into modelling.”
Not everyone in the world is born with perfection. Every person has flaws about which they are insecure about. When asked Sandra about how comfortable she is in her own skin, she said that it took her a while to be confident about herself and her looks. Modeling has helped her to bring out the confidence in her which did not know about.
“Modelling definitely helped bring out confidence which I did know how I had. Although many people aren’t confident and hate their own skin it’s really important to realize that everyone is unique and that you shouldn’t spend time wishing to look a different way especially as everyone views beauty in a different way. One person may see you as the most beautiful person in the world while someone else may not because at the end of the day we all have our own perception of beauty. Keeping healthy is a huge step in the right direction towards confidence and body positivity. It definitely makes a difference on your mindset.”
Beauty has a very subjective definition. It is said that beauty is in the eye’s of the beholder. So, Sandra described the idea of beauty in her own words. She said that beauty can’t be explained as a simple concept. Adding to which she says,
“Beauty is the way someone is a whole, on the inside and outside. I personally chose to go into modelling because I was super comfortable with myself and modelling helped me gain confidence and work with many other models to show that being comfortable in your own skin is the main aspect of beauty!”
One thing Sandra would like to do for the world is to make people comfortable in their own skin. Revealing her plans she says,
“I plan on beginning to host model events and workshops to help other girls or men who want to get into modelling but don’t know where to start! I would love to show some pointers and give them a starting point”
